1. The service
SmartCerts (smartcerts.co) is a platform to create, issue, deliver and verify digital certificates and credentials. The person who creates the account and issues credentials is the issuer; the person receiving them is the recipient.
2. Responsibility for content
The issuer is solely responsible for credential claims (participation, completion, skills, duration, etc.), recipient data provided and the legal basis for processing it. SmartCerts records issuance and allows verification that the issuer issued it to the recipient; it does not attest to the truth of the content or anyone's competence.
3. Account and access
Keep your password private and your organization's details up to date. API keys grant access to the organization: store them securely and revoke unused keys.
4. Acceptable use
Issuing false or misleading credentials, or credentials in someone else's name without authorization, sending unsolicited bulk emails, and attempting automated access to other people's credentials are prohibited.
5. Plans and payment
Plans can be monthly or annual, with limits and prices published at Pricing. Excess usage in limited plans is billed per credential.
Monthly billing renews automatically until cancelled. An annual payment of 10 monthly fees grants 12 months of access, without automatic renewal. Issuance allowances are monthly in both plans. Cancelling monthly renewal preserves access for the paid period.
6. Credential availability
Issued credentials remain available for verification while the issuer's account exists. The issuer can revoke them at any time; the page then shows the revocation.
7. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
