Certificate and credential
The certificate is the document: what the person sees, downloads and prints. The credential is the underlying record. In SmartCerts, every certificate is a credential with its own address, making it verifiable.
What the verification page shows
- Issuer and recipient
- Credential type and certified achievement (course, event, certification)
- Issue date, duration and expiration, where applicable
- Unique code
- Status: valid, expired or revoked
Why it matters
A standalone PDF can be edited and doesn't show whether it is still valid. With the public page, recipients such as recruiters, clients and institutions can check directly at the source, without contacting the issuer.
No magical promises
We don't use blockchain or claim anything is "impossible to forge". Our assurance is simple: the issuer registered the credential in SmartCerts, and the page shows the actual record.
